Bikram Bhattarai
Data Analyst · MDS @ Swinburne · Melbourne
I'm a data analyst with nearly four years of offshore experience across market and product insights, reporting, and product analytics, currently completing a Master of Data Science at Swinburne University in Melbourne. My background sits at the intersection of business strategy and data - an MBA in Marketing & Business Analytics on the commercial side, with day-to-day work in SQL, Python, R, and Tableau on the technical side.
I work primarily in SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and Power BI, with experience in Google Analytics 4 and Excel for marketing-side analysis. I care about clean assumptions, reproducible work, and writing the README.
My journey into data
My route into analytics started in product operations. I spent two years at PowerWeave in Mumbai managing catalogue data and order workflows for a US wholesale platform - large datasets, recurring process gaps, and the kind of detail work that teaches you to respect a clean spreadsheet. From there I moved to Bangalore, joined Keygap Software Solutions as a Junior Customer Insights Analyst, and started working on SaaS product and marketing data full-time: SQL pulls, Tableau dashboards, A/B test reporting, NPS analysis, KPI rollups for the team lead.
That work made one thing obvious: I enjoyed the data side more than the campaign side. The questions that mattered - which segment is actually growing? which signup cohort retains? what does this dashboard not tell us? - were data questions. So I moved to Melbourne, started a Master of Data Science at Swinburne, and I'm now building the technical foundation I'd been working around. The career change isn't really a pivot - it's the part of my last job finally getting its own title.
